Le Clarinettiste et cinéaste New Yorkais Woody Allen pioche dans le repertoire du Jazz pour mettre en musique ses films. Se croisent ainsi Cole Porter (Tout ce que vous avez toujours voulu savoir sur le sexe, Une autre femme), Gershwin (Manhattan), Django Reinhardt (Stardust Memories, Harry dans tous ses états), Harry James (Hannah et ses soeurs, Radio Days), Benny Goodman (Radio Days, Meurtre mystérieux à Manhattan, Maudite Aphrodite), Duke Ellington (Radio Days, Coups de feu sur Broadway, Sortilège du scorpion de jade), et aussi Erroll Gardner, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong.... Au milieu de ces emprunts au jazz, Woody Allen a aussi ses propres arrangeurs/ compositeurs comme Marvin Hamlish sur Bananas ou Dick Hyman sur Tout le monde dit I love you.... Sur Accords et desaccords, Howard Alden et Bucky Pizzarelli ont interprété une BO cohérente s'inspirant de Django Reinhardt aucquel le film rendait hommage... avec ces guitares énergiques...
